    Well I think it's a necessary thing because it's not like they are "stealing" your land from you. I do think that you should be able to have a say in the price you get though.

    If I owned some land that had been in the family for generations that would probably mean more to me than the current market rate for such land. I'd want extra for the sentimental worth as well but I doubt that will be happening.

    I think the government should have to pay for any and all eminent domain cases to go to court so the court an decide if the government truly needs that specific area of land. If there are absolutely NO other alternatives then the government can buy the land. They need to pay for the land owners court fees though as well if you ask me.
