Divorcing Vince

While Jason Kidd's personal life continues to make headlines, the more interesting development - if you ask me - is the Nets' pursuit of the right trade that would reshape the team before the Feb. 22 deadline.

The latest potential swaps heard around the league had the Nets discussing a deal that would've sent Vince Carter and Marcus Williams to the Clippers for Corey Maggette and Shaun Livingston. That deal was nixed by the Clippers, who don't want to deal Livingston, but the Nets seem more focused than ever on trying to move Carter.

The problem is, they want equal value in return, and equal value is hard to get for a player who can opt out of his contract after the season. Nets president Rod Thorn reportedly has offered Carter to Memphis for Pau Gasol, to Seattle for Ray Allen and to Utah for Andrei Kirilenko.

The Nets went 5-1 in the immediate aftermath of Kidd's divorce filing Jan. 9, then lost three straight games by one point entering last night's 112-102 win over Denver - in which Carter had 40 points.

To be honest with you I'm tired of hearing all these trade rumours about Vince Carter or Jason Kidd, there's a rumour of them going to a team one day, and the next day it says there going to another team. I wish they would just stop with these stupid rumours, I don't think neither of them are going anywhere.

Also Kidd don't get me wrong with my post, I don't mind you posting these things, it's just that I am tired to see them on the trading block, especially that everyday it's a different team.
