Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki has been issued the standard fine of $5,000 for kicking a basketball into the stands, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred at the conclusion of the Mavericks’ 101-100 loss to the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the 2006 NBA Finals at AmericanAirlines Arena.
I thought something may have happened from him doing that. What do you guys think?

Yeah. I mean his getting off easy. I remember when T-Mac did that 3 years ago and got fined alot more.

I think the reason Tracy Mcgrady got fined more money is because he did it twice he kicked the ball into the stands and someone threw it back i guess and he kicked it back.

But yea Dirk got off easy because he didn't just kick the ball into the stands on his way to the locker room he kicked over an exercise bike and I think kicked over a chair.

T-Mac kicked the ball twice, also got sent out of the game if i remember correctly. Nowitzki was annoyed, and i'm sure anyone would in that situation. They played hard and got unlucky. There is always next year for Dallas, and i'm sure we will see them there again.
