The best Rose can hope for is a Grant Hill career: Prime years ruined by injuries, but a relatively healthy second half as a role veteran.

I had perceived Rose as being much younger than Hill at their injury dates, but no. Rose is 26 and Hill was 28 when he began his injury cycle. Rose's game is conditioned so much on being explosive that I doubt he will ever return to all-star status. Hill was around 6'8" and could handle the ball and was a tremendous defender. Rose is a little guy who isn't a great ballhandler for his size. I will look to see what MVP player had the fewest career Win Shares. I would guess Iverson. If so, Rose may shatter that record.

Even if Rose does come back after just say 6 weeks I doubt he'll have much explosiveness, he really is just about done.
