Dead Rising 2

Just got this.

It is fabulous. An absolute squeal.

The original title was pretty damn good, but this raises the bar with so much to do, and such a variety of challenges, that well, I can see me playing this for some time to come.
The game, if you don't know it, is a simple thing really. Basically, all you are asked to do is command your character through the horrors of a zombie outbreak, dispatching them with pretty much anything you can think of.
You can blow their legs off with a shotgun, smash them to bits with a sledgehammer, or simply throw barstools at them - you can even combine items to make truly unique tools of death...
In between the riotous slaying, you have many options. You can save survivors, defeat nutters and looters or dig to the bottom of this situation, finding out what caused the outbreak.

Set in the bustling casino town of Fortune City. There is a lot to discover.

I highly recommend this game to anyone with a taste for zombie slaying fun.

Thoughts?

Ugh. This doesn't come out until Tuesday here. I am anticipating getting it Tuesday as soon as I get out of school. I loved the first one, and watching them talk about it at a game convention has gotten me so exciting.

I am going to get this. Even more so when they announced there'll be an add-on pack called Case:West, which bridges the gap between Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2 by bringing Frank West into the game.

*EDIT* Scratch that, turns out it's an Xbox exclusive downloadable game...

I think I'm going to marathon it... beat the first one (something I never did) and then rent this one and try and do the same. It will probably involve a few all-nighters. I haven't had a good zombie fix since... L4D2 (and Plants vs. Zombies Haha).

Played this at a friend's the other day, and I like it thus far. PP's a little easier to get, but it's still a matter of using the right tool for the job. I also like the new gun controls, I always hated that Frank would point his gun in the direction he's facing, not where the camera's pointed. The fact I can now use the camera to choose where to shoot at and then just press the aim button makes gunplay a whole lot easier.

No opinion on Terror is Reality yet, though. Haven't tried that, save for the opening scenes.
