Press Release - The announcement of the inaugural National Basketball Development League All-Star Game highlights the release of the 2006-07 D-League schedule. The All-Star game will be played as part of Jam Session at the 2007 NBA All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas and will be televised by NBA TV.

The NBA D-League All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Jam Session Center Court immediately following practices for the East and West NBA All-Star Teams. Teams representing the Eastern and Western Divisions of the D-League will be selected by a vote that includes fans, as well as D-League players and coaches. D-League All-Star Game voting procedures will be finalized and released in the near future. The head coach of the team with the best record in each division two weeks prior to the All-Star game will coach the teams.

“We are delighted to have the first D-League All-Star Game as part of NBA All-Star Weekend,†D-League President Phil Evans said. “This will be an experience our players will long remember, and coupled with our annual Showcase in January, affords NBA teams an additional avenue to gather at one location to see the best the D-League has to offer.â€

I agree it's a good thing, because these players work really hard to make the NBA, and a lot of them have a lot of talent, but no one sees them play, but now they can watch them play on the biggest stage, and that's the all star game. This is a very good choice by the NBA.
  4. This will be good for the D-League, and all of the guys in it who don't get national exposure. One question - Will it be televised as part of TNT's coverage, or will it be on NBATV?
