Curtis Joseph has decided to sign with the Calgary Flames.

Joseph struggled last season with a 3.19 GAA and .893 save percentage in 55 games with Phoenix. However, Cujo impressed many with his performance in the Spengler Cup in December. He is just two wins away from surpassing Terry Sawchuk for fourth place on the all-time victories list.

I expected him to sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs because their goalie situation isnt to good right now. With that being said this is a good pick up for the Calgary Flames because they needed a back up that can get the job done if Kipper gets injured. He played well in the Spengler Cup, that's why he got signed.

Doesn't Toronto have Toskala and Raycroft? Are they both doing bad or something? On paper that's a nice 1-2 punch, but I can't say I've been paying much attention to how they've been doing.

Joseph is the perfect veteran backup in case something bad happens. Great job by Calgary bringing him in.

I think Calgary is the best place for Cujo to be right now. He can get a reasonable amount of money, fine defense and he doesn't have the pressure to be a main one. He can rest while Kipper does most of the work and they can feel free to bring him in once in while. Good job, Sutter. Fine work
