Ok, I live in the south, and most northerners have never heard of 'chocolate gravy'.......but here in the south, we make it quite often.
Has anyone else ever heard of it??.....or tried it??
It is delicious served with biscuits and butter *yummy*

    >.> I'm originally a Northerner and I have never heard of it LOL.

I just looked it up online and people are saying it is good over eggs =-O

It doesn't sound like it would be my kind of thing, but I would still try it just to see if it is actually good though it doesn't sound it.

Just to clarify, was born and raised in the south and I have never heard of this. lol

It doesn't sound appealing to me at all, but then again, I don't really like chocolate or sweets that much.

I know, it does sound a bit "gross".....but it really is good~
And I'm not much of a chocolate eater myself.
It just takes a little cocoa, a little flour, a bit of sugar and some water.
I like it in a bowl, with lots of butter and a couple of biscuits broken into bites, and put in the bowl.
Some people down here, place the biscuits on their plates, then pour the gravy over top.........but, I don't like it that way~
You have to get the image of sausage gravy out of your heads
I've never had it on eggs either, I've only had it with biscuits.....I don't think I would like it with anything else.
    But it's rich....fudgy....different!

I've had Chocolate Gravy. Its good times but I couldnt eat it all the time.

Basically it reminded me of really thinned down Chocolate Jello Pudding.

When I had it, I was in Watsonville, Calif. at my Best Mans Grandparents house. We'd went to Watsonville for the Airshow and stayed at his Grandparents house instead of renting a hotel. The whole time he was stoked about the Chocolate gravy instead of the Airshow itself :hah:

I was semi-unimpressed. It was alright, I mean I'm not a huge chocolate nut like most people and he'd spent the whole fucking weekend talking about how Chocolate Gravy was better than getting a blow job from twin asian pornstars.

lol yeah one of the reasons he loved it so much is because of memories. It was one of those things where he grew up on it but only got it at his grandparents house. So even though it was lackluster in flavor, all the good memories of being a kid really exploded the experience into this amazing thing.

to me, I poured it over biscuits and ate it liek that. We had Scrambled eggs also but I dont remember putting it on 'em. I do remember feeling guilty for not chugging the gravy boat, as much as he talked it up I felt bad for not really caring for it. Like I said, not that it was gross... it just was meh to me.

I grew up on okie gravy and biscuits. So I have a hard time eating any other kinds of gravy over top biscuits.
