Dont blame him for getting out when he is. He did do some good for the sport but for the most part I haven't enjoyed him that much.

I'll be happy when he's gone to be honest.

Commissioner Bud Selig plans to step down in 2012, reports Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribute.

Selig has been convinced to stay on as commissioner in years past, but sounds rather adamant that 2011 will be his final year. Not coincidentally, 2011 is also the year the new collective bargaining agreement needs to be struck. Selig will best be known for adding the Wild Card, interleague play, calling the 2002 All-Star Game as a tie, and beginning the integration of instant replay into the game. Favorites to replace Selig are his right-hand men of Bob DuPuy and Rob Manfred along with Orioles general manager Andy MacPhail.

That makes me so happy, he'll be known as one of worse commissioners in the history of the Major Leagues. Looking back at his tenure you'll know that he was the commish during one of the worse ERA's of baseball and that was the steroid ERA. I wish he stepped down today instead of two years from now.

He is definitely going to be remembered as one of the worst commissioners especially with all the roid abuse going on. I really want to see a level-headed, hammer-fisted guy step in and shake the foundation, scare the cheaters and make some real headway on the issue.

I just hope McPhail doesn't replace him. He's doing some good for the Orioles with the owner's cheap policies.
