Iris rainbow 11! is a site very similar to Google. It's basically Google, but instead of the white background, it's black.

The reason being is because it's been proven that black backgrounds don't consume as much energy as a white one, so Google thought that by creating a black Google, they could save tons and tons of energy. Well, they were right.

Go to the site and under the search engine they show the amount of energy that has been saved by the users. :D - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yeah. It's good for a search engine. But doesn't have a lot of the features that Google has.

I'm sticking with normal Google. You know you can change the colors of Google now anyway. Plus Blackle is not an official Google site. It's just an affiliate search engine that somebody made and set up to search Google.

Yeah, but even Google is giving it the big thumbs up.

I'm giving up on Google for now when it comes to searching for something.

I prefer Yahoo personally. I want to see Google get some stiff competition so some better sites come out soon.

Black background is cool, but come on. No pics? That's a disgrace to search engines.

Oh man! No search engine can possibly succeed nowadays without image searching, it just can't happen.

I never really thought of how a black background consumes less energy but I guess that it does make sense, it's too bad that I am more of a neutral guy when it comes to colors of stuff, I'm using the earth skin to prove this, have been ever since it came out, there are some bright colors and some dark colors just the kind of balance I like.
