A black CNN camerawoman covering the Republican National Convention was hit with peanuts by people who said, "this is how we feed animals," the network said.

I don't know why anyone at the republican convention would think this would be the thing to do and not know they would be thrown out over it. What possesses some people to do something like this?

I'm hoping we don't start hearing the usual "race card" political talk. Sometimes racism is just racism. I don't blame the Republican Party by any means, and it's good that they released a statement, but it's just ridiculous behavior by ridiculous people. When you pander to fringe elements during the political process you'll draw people like this sometimes. Hell, even when you don't, there's always trash like this around.

It's was a gathering of a very large group of people, you're bound to get some with racists attitudes and no manners. This is very sad and disgusting

I was surprised that riff-raff was allowed in the convention. I saw a clip where some code pink lady was escorted out of the center after she unveiled a flag and starting screaming something. I always thought the conventions were invitation only and you had to be a high standing member of your local Republican party to get a ticket. It just surprised me that some unruly racist idiot could make it in there.

There was a lot of people there and you can't know everyone that well. There's always some closet racist hiding their true feelings until they can't then stuff like this happens. I just can't believe they thought they could get away with it.

Yeah, I thought about that too. After I made my post I even thought about is the color of skin of the news reporter incidental? In other words could it have been some loons who saw a CNN crew and threw the peanuts and said what they said because they hate CNN? I don't see this as conclusively something racial, although I'm not denying the possibility that it could be.

Its too bad they weren't arrested so the facts could come out. You gotta assume it was some ass that was an attendee and not a plant from the opposition. But since they apparently weren't detained guess we'll never know for 100% sure.
