I'm a huge 80's rock fan. What one song do you think has the best guitar solo?

For me "Sweet Child of Mine" by Guns n' Roses is the best guitar solo.

What say you?

Is this just 80's rock or can it be any time period?

If it's any then I know of a really awesome solo.

Sweet Child of Mine is awesome by the way.

Nah I was just stating that I love 80's rock, and a lot of music in that time period has really good guitar solos. You can use whatever you want.

There's so many, it's really hard to choose one. I love Slash in Sweet child O Mine as well, the one he does in November Rain is wicked as well.

Others that I like are;

David Gilmour in Comfortably Numb
Eddie Van Halen in Beat It
Eddie Van Halen in Eruption

Then you have Angus Young that as many of them.

To hard to choose one.

Yep. Lots of good guitar solos by Slash/GNR especially those two mentioned above.

Also While My Guitar Gently Weeps and some of Santana's songs.

Ohhh, this is tough, I don't think I can select just one!

Here's a few on my list:

Carlos Santana - Black Magic Woman

Layla - Eric Clapton

November Rain - Guns n Roses

Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven

And will definitely agree with BR on Van Halen's, "Eruption".

I think my top three would be......

1. Burn - Deep Purple (Ritchie Blackmore)

2. Voodoo Child (Slight Return) {the first solo particularly} - Jimi Hendrix

3. Domination - Pantera (Dimebag Darrell)

It's so hard to pick only three, but i said i'll keep it at that otherwise i'll just keep goin! :p a whole lotta love for the other solos posted in this thread aswell.
