I don't like the way eBay automatically bids up to your maximum. It's a decent feature, but I think within the last hour or so of the auction, or maybe even last 10 minutes, all bids placed should automatically be set as high as you bid.
So if the current bid is $100, and you bid $500, the bid would be $500, and not $101.
I say if people are willing to pay that much let them. It's better for buyers and sellers.
Buyers: It's better because they have a fair shot to see exactly what they have to outbid.
Sellers: It's better because (see above) buyers will bid a lot higher.
Anyone else have similar thoughts?
