    Seems like she just wanted to test her own skill and see where that leads her. Humans do that often. Push and test the limits. And when done, you get bored or realise the grass isn't always greener in the other side, or you're simply pleased with your success that it's time to go home.

    I wonder if in her own mind she was actually "escaping" or maybe she just thought I want to go over there, so she just went about doing it regardless of what got in her way.

    Well, that's a pretty smart orangutan to short circuit a fence and think to pile up debris in order to escape.

    That is weird that it went back all on it's own though, usually when an animal runs away it just keeps going because it wants to explore new things, I know that my dogs are that way :lol:
