Anybody else excited about this?

The Andromeda Strain was the book that put Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, Sphere...) on the map when it came to great sci-fi. It was also his first book.

"This book recounts the five-day history of a major American scientific crisis. As in most crises, the events surrounding the Andromeda Strain were a compound of foresight and foolishness, innocence and ignorance. Nearly everyone involved had moments of great brilliance, and moments of unaccountable stupidity."
Written in 1969, it's already been made into a movie back in the 70's, but it was recently remade.

A new Andromeda Strain mini-series will be premiering on A&E tonight.

"The Andromeda Strain" (2008) (mini)

It's a Universal Pictures, not to mention Riddley Scott production (Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Hannibal) so don't let the "TV mini-series" aspect scare you off. I think it's going to be pretty awesome.

It's running two nights. Tonight and tomorrow night. 9PM Eastern / 8PM Central.
