Alternatives to Saddle Leather

Do What Thou Wilt
Alright, I recently bought a Replica Ka-Bar marketed as an Airforce Survival Knife, which came with a fine leather sheath. Parts of it, namely the inside of the pouch, and the backside, are unprotected leather. I want to protect it, but I don't have any saddle leather, and I think it sounds expensive. So, are their any cheap alternatives to saddle oil for protecting leather? I've heard silicone oil works, but is their anything else that'll work at a cheap price?
