16 of the Internet’s Best April Fools’ Day Gags of 2015. Selfie Shoes, Selfie Cars, and More!

It’s April Fools’ Day, and as usual, the Internet delivered. Here are some of the best April Fools’ pranks pulled by companies all over the web today.

Back to the Future 4 is happening!

“Fast to the Future” puts Vin Diesel in the driver’s seat of the Doc’s time traveling DeLorean. While fans may be hesitant to see the Fast & Furious franchise merged with Back to the Future, critics are praising the move by Universal. Realistically, the Furious standalone movies are likely to end after 7, and Back to the Future has been sitting stagnant since the third. It only makes sense to bring them both together for something new and fresh.

The Honda HRV Selfie Edition

We’ve all been there. You’re sitting in your car and the sudden urge to take a selfie comes over you. Only problem? Your phone is in your pocket, purse, or whatnot, and will take a few precious seconds to grab. This is a problem that will soon be forgotten with the Honda HRV Selfie Edition, or “SLF” as the rear emblem shows. This car is loaded with several interior driver facing cameras that allow you to capture selfies from more angles than traditionally thought possible while in a vehicle.

Don’t worry, Honda thought of everything. The cameras only work when the car is in park.

Microsoft Announces MS-DOS Mobile

The Windows Phone was always missing one key feature that Windows users have grown accustomed to over the years, but that’s all about to change. Introducing MS-DOS mobile, your command prompt solution for Windows based smart phones.

And it looks, well, pretty much how you’d expect it to. Click here for Microsoft’s announcement, or just watch the video below.

Backwards Google is Backwards

This one is simply impressive. Google is now backwards for those who prefer their searches to look like they are mirrored. Just head on over to http://com.google and start searching.

Nokia’s “HERE Kitty” Lets You Track Your Cat Via GPS

This one is actually a pretty great idea, assuming it could be done affordably. The concept is simple enough: A collar that your pets can wears that places them on the GPS grid in real time. Cat ran away? No problem. Just check HERE Kitty and you’ll have the real Mr. Jinx back in no time. Read the details here.

YouTube Wants You To Listen to Sandstorm by Darude

Head on over to YouTube and throw in a search term. No matter what it is, even if it’s Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley, YouTube asks you “Did you mean: Darude – Sandstorm by Darude”.

No search is safe. YouTube thinks you want to listen to Sandstorm no matter what.

Now, considering how epic this song is, chances are you really did mean it, right? Here’s the video for those who have never seen it. Strap yourself in. The sandstorm is coming.

BMW Actually Gave Away a REAL Car For April Fools’ Day

Instead of actually pranking customers today, a New Zealand BMW dealership pulled an epic prank on those wary of the jokes. They placed an ad in a local paper that stated that the first person to come into the dealership and “ask for Tom” would get to swap their car for a new BMW, straight up. Well, one sucker came in just in case, and to her amazement, she walked (er, drove) away in a new BMW, just as the ad stated.

Fiat Partners With Jelly Belly For Scented Car Paint

Forget Scratch-N-Sniff, Fiat and Jelly Belly have just revolutionized the “new car smell” as we know it (no scratching necessary).

Forget Selfie Sticks, Miz Mooz Introduces Selfie Shoes

Selfie sticks are so, well, 2015, but even so, who really wants to carry one around at all times? After all, you never know when you’re going to need to take that all-important selfie photo. Miz Mooz is changing the game with their brand new selfie shoes. Sorry men, these only work with high heels. Women, just insert your phone into the special slot on your selfie shoe, lift your leg, click your toe, and you’re done! The best part? You can now have both of your hands showing in the picture.

Pac-Man Invaded Google Maps

Google has created a few upgraded for their popular Google Maps application over the years, but today it gets the upgrade nerds everywhere have been waiting for. You can now play the classic arcade hit Pac-Man on any street grid in the world.

Just click the Pac-Man icon on the lower left of a Google Maps page and you’re off. Sadly, this is all likely to go away come tomorrow, so get your fix in while you can.

Samsung’s Galaxy BLADE edge: Chef’s Edition

Have you ever found yourself looking at your Samsung BLADE phone and thought to yourself “This could be so much more?” Well, you’re right, and Samsung thought the same thing. You can now purchase the BLADE edge edition, which converts the normal smart phone (although you’ll call it a dumb phone when you see what is available now) into a brilliant clear smart blade for chefs.

Imagine being able to pull up your favorite recipes on the web while slicing? Perhaps even watch your favorite TV show. You’re good to go with the Samsung BLADE edge, available for a very, very limited time.

Slicing through the competition.

Google Panda

Google has introduced a revolutionary new search replacement to the Asian market. It’s a stuffed Panda that talks to you. This likely won’t fly in the West, but it seems to be a big hit in Japan so far.

The crazy thing is that if it wasn’t April Fool’s Day, this actually could pass as something that might go over well in a market such as Japan. Taking a page out of Apple’s playbook, the Google Panda comes in two sizes: The compact Google Panda 5, and of course, the larger version is called the Google Panda 6.

The Petco “Dog on a Stick” Selfie Stick

As crazy as a selfie stick for pets seems, it’s sadly something that is probably being conjured up in some tech lab somewhere as you read this. For now, it’s only a joke, thankfully.

Left Handed Toilet Paper, by Cottonelle

Approximately 10% of the world is going to be excited to hear this one. Cottonelle has announced a left-handed version of their popular toilet paper brand. Now, instead of having to fumble around awkwardly with right-handed toilet paper, you can wipe with ease and comfort with a toilet paper made just for you. Mike H. founder of the Lefties for the Ethical Treatment of Lefties (L.E.F.T.I.E.S.) was quoted in their ad saying: “It cleans just like right-hand toilet paper, only now it’s made for me.”

With left handed toilet paper, there will be nothing “left” when the job is done…

Personal Airbags for Distracted Smart Phone Users

The Japanese have done it again. We’ve all done it. You know, posted that Facebook status just before heading out and about. The urge to check for any new likes is simply impossible for even the best of us (aged 15 or younger) to handle, so we walk around with our faces in our phones. What happens if you bump into somebody else? The engineers at Volvo have a solution that is likely to really blow up all over the world. Personal airbags for your body.

Just check out this video. It will explain everything.
