17x17x17 Rubik’s Cube Solved in 7.5 Hours (Timelapse Video)

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering what to do with all the free time on your hands, a 17x17x17 Rubik’s cube (a.k.a. “Over-The-Top Cube) could be worth considering. Puzzle fanatic Kenneth Brandon (RedKB on YouTube) did exactly this recently, and it only took him 7.5 hours. Only two people have ever solved this cube, which is 3D printed and not available for consumer purchase due to it’s prohibitive cost.

The cube itself was designed by Oskar Van Deventer, who has also created some other crazy cube puzzles which can be found on his website.

To prove he actually completed the puzzle in 7.5 hours, Kenneth also uploaded the original 7.5 hour video, which he recorded over a period of 5 days. Instead of attempting to actually solve such a Rubik’s cube next time you have 7.5 hours to kill, perhaps a more realistic use of your time would be to simply try to sit through this entire video:

Needless to say, most people should probably just stick to the standard 3×3 cube.
